Supported Data Sources

IntelliMagic Vision utilizes SMI-S, IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center (TPC) or SMF data. SMI-S is a vendor neutral management standard implemented by all major enterprise storage manufacturers.  IntelliMagic Vision SMI-S Data Collector is required for collecting data from SMI-S providers.  For environments that have existing IBM TPC investments, IntelliMagic Vision can use TPC. For z/OS mainframe environments, SMF and RMF data is used to allow for z/OS-specific I/O analysis.  The following picture demonstrates a high level flow of the supported data sources into IntelliMagic Vision:
