Migrate to Larger Logical Volumes

The most difficult part of migrating to larger logical volumes is the design of the mapping scheme that determines which source logical volumes will be combined into which target volume.

It combines the volumes so that each target volume handles the same level of work in both front-end and back-end activity, avoiding hotspots in the new con figuration.
